Fix it Time

sWe're tied up this week for maintenance. Installing a second chiller, rebuilding the lightboat's main engine, and installing the rebuilt engine in the lightboat are the major work projects. In addition, Manuel and crew are mending the sardine and squid nets. Steve is rewiring some lights for scooping squid and I am preparing an Easter dinner.

In Wilmington, CA., Steve discovered a hideaway for marine regalea, much of it antique and some of it manufactured for movie and TV sets. The name is Louis Equiptment and it is an old family business, my favorite kind. Anina Louis gave us the royal tour yesterday , through a huge warehouse stuffed with wooden ship wheels, ancient lifeboat oars, costumes from the movie "20,000 Leagues under the Sea", old marine electronics and binnacles, and numerous varieties of marine hardware. The TV series JAG and the movie "Master & Commander" are a few of the outfits who have rented items out of the Louis Equiptment warehouse.
